A Different Approach to New Year's Intentions for 2021

As seen on Arrive Market Published 12.30.20

Our new retailer, Arrive Market, put together a list of New Year's intentions that are simple, accessible, and achievable to help ease yourself into 2021 and we could not agree more.

1. Spend less time scrolling

Setting a timer on our social media apps, establishing a "no phones in the bedroom" rule, and cutting back on time "doom scrolling" on our phones to make more time for things that matter are all good ideas for 2021. This year included information overload, so taking back your time with more intentional information consumption can help you feel more peaceful and hopeful. Your mind will thank you.

2. Create a morning and evening ritual or routine

Set the tone for your morning and evening by creating a routine that works for you. The time after you wake up and before you go to bed are sacred moments to de-stress, collect your thoughts, and have agency over the day's mood, energy, and productivity. Meditation, gentle movement, mindfully crafting a beverage, or a nightly bedtime ritual are great ways to turn a regular morning or evening into a grounding experience you can look forward to that signals the beginning and end to your day. CBD can both help you focus during the day, as well as wind down and sleep better. Juna Nightcap dropsSagely Naturals and Nu Bloom Botanicals Essential Oil Roll-ons, or Rhythm Seltzer beverages are great options to incorporate into your daily routines.

3. Develop a simple skincare routine

Even though the skin is our largest organ, many of us don't ever develop a proper skincare routine until adulthood (if ever!). 2021 is the perfect year to protect, hydrate, and care for our skin, especially during the drier winter months. Whether you add a nighttime face mask to your routinea serum for an extra layer or hydration, or even explore using body lotion or oil, there are a variety of luxurious, high quality skincare products on Arrive Market to consider introducing into your routine. And don't forget to use SPF! Your skin will thank you!

4. Create a list of books you'd like to read

Whether you're an avid reader, or it takes you months to get through one book, reading more is always a good idea. Creating a list of books or topics you'd like to read in the upcoming year is a great way to fulfill your curiosity, improve brain cognition, and de-stress. When you're in the mood to curl up with a good book, your list is already there to choose from! We love taking Plant People's Stay Sharp capsules before sitting down to read to promote increased brain function, energy, stamina and alertness to get the most out of reading time!

5. Take up a new hobby, just because.

We live in an age where everything has to be part of "the grind." Not every hobby needs to turn into a side business. Maybe 2021 doesn't need to be the year you become an expert in what you already know, but instead it can be the year you try new things and aren't afraid to fail! If an activity, craft, or instrument has been calling you, try it out! Without attaching to the need to succeed, our hobbies are able to serve the purpose of bringing joy to our lives. Who knows, you might even find your next passion!

6. Spend more time nourishing YOU

Need we say more? 2020 was hard, and it threw A LOT of curveballs at us. Prioritizing ourselves, even if it's just once a week, helps us keep our cup full so we can pour ourselves into our lives and loved ones more sustainably. Taking time to recharge and take care of ourselves will help us not only cope with change and uncertainty, but thrive and still find moments of calm and happiness. Dropping the Luna Volta Earth Bath Bomb into the tub after a long day is one of our favorite ways to get grounded and relax.
